


In Information Technology, we draw on the university’s rich resources in engineering, computer science, architecture, management, and the sciences to prepare students for a career in integration, design and management of computing and telecommunication resources and services in such diverse fields as bioengineering, e-commerce, multimedia, network security, software engineering, and telecommunications.

The National Centers of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAEIAE) and the CAE-Research (CAE-R) are outreach programs designed and operated initially by the National Security Agency (NSA) in the spirit of Presidential Decision Directive 63, National Policy on Critical Infrastructure Protection.
When he was 13 years old, Oscar Tapia always carried a dictionary. It was his friend and his teacher -- his passport to a brighter future. He had just arrived from Mexico and was eager to learn English.
The objective of the MS in IT Administration and Security (MS IT AS) is to educate students in the concepts, principles, techniques, and practices needed to administer a modern IT environment and its security. Students will gain extensive practical experience doing IT administration. Those who complete the program will be well prepared to play leadership roles as database, network, security and web services administrators, as enterprise application administrators, and as IT administrative managers.
